How It All Began

The Welcome Valley Village Story

Warnie Fennel started Welcome Valley in 1992 with a partner, Dexter Webb. They had just opened up the first 3 cabins to guests shortly before her breast cancer returned. She passed away in 1994 and Kevin and Jenny (Warnie's Daughter) Rogers sold their house to purchase Dexter's share to be sole owners and developers of the Village. The Rogers built The Pines, Cherokee Ridge, and their home, now called Chilhowee Cabin at the top of the hill in the following few years. They raised their son Jackson at the village and wouldn't trade a day of it for anything. Jenny and Kevin poured their heart and soul into the Village for 26 years (1994–2020).
