Graveyard Fields Loop Trail

Graveyard2

Hiking in Graveyard Fields Loop Trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway is an exhilarating experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Located in North Carolina, this scenic area is known for its unique landscape and natural beauty. It features a variety of trails, perfect for both casual walkers and seasoned hikers.

The Graveyard Fields Loop Trail, approximately 3.2 miles long, is the centerpiece of the area. It guides visitors through open meadows, dense forests, and picturesque waterfalls. The trail offers a range of terrain that makes it accessible yet rewarding.

The area gets its name from tree stumps that resemble a graveyard, remnants of a windstorm and fire that devastated the forest. Along the trail, hikers will encounter two notable waterfalls: Lower Falls and Upper Falls. The fall season is one of the best times to explore, when the foliage turns vivid colors. The trail is well-maintained and clearly marked, making it ideal for families, novice hikers, and even pets.
